DJ Rish

In July 2012, just 3 days after DJ turned 15 years old, he was involved in a single car accident that left him with severe chemical burns and an above the knee amputation of his left leg.  With the help of his family, friends and God DJ was released from the hospital a full month ahead of schedule.  Once home he was surrounded by caring individuals who helped DJ on his road to recovery.  His therapist, Rhyno Coetsee, has played a large part in DJ's recovery as well as his prosthetist Larry Wiley but nothing has helped DJ and his family more than their faith in God.

In 2013, DJ competed in the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC and the Tom Hoskins Memorial Sprint Triathlon in Columbia, SC.  His has made great strides in his recovery and continues to improve every single day.  Many can learn from DJ's positive attitude.
